Happy New Year Everyone!
I am so behind with my blogging! It has been a very busy few months and I finally feel like i am catching up with my life! I just wanted to say hello and share with you a few developments and some recent work.
Lots has happened since my last post, the biggest being buying my first house with my other half. Doing this at the same time as preparing for the Christmas rush was probably not the wisest of ideas but these things can't be helped! The best thing about it is that is has a nice big garden with plenty of room for a new studio. This will enable me to work from home rather than in my Mums garden! The new shed will be bigger and better than my current one and the best thing about it..... it's a beautiful duck egg blue! Construction begins in February (hopefully it won't be so cold!) and I will keep you all updated on progress.
I thought I would also share with you some work that I did before Christmas for a friend of mine for her wedding. She wanted to give her Maid of Honour, Best Man and Bridesmaids something special to ask them if they would each take on a role and luckily they said YES! The boxes were better than I could have hoped. Each box had a laser cut design and acrylic protective sheet on the lid, decorated with beautiful pearls. She then filled the boxes with special momentos and photos, personalised for each person. As they were a surprise I had to wait to share them but I think they are worth the wait! The wedding season is nearly upon us and I am taking orders for both this year and next.
Finally, like myself, another client is in the process of creating their own studio and asked me to make her a wooden, laser cut version of her logo. The logo itself is fab so I knew it was going to lend itself to a cut out. She wanted to paint it herself so the finish was birch plywood with a translucent acrylic backing. I can't wait to see the finished result! All the products I make are personalised so if you are looking for anything branded, message me for a quote.
I hope you all have a lovely end to the weekend and hopefully soon we can enjoy some sunshine and celebrate the end to this horrible cold/wet/windy weather. I don't know about you but I am happy to see the end of January.
Ciao for now!
